π§ Whose Australia?
Mission 1 Β· Unit 1 β Beyond the postcard.
Your briefing
From now on, you are not a student β you are part of an intercultural future agency. An international youth forum has hired your agency for one job: show the world a realistic, diverse, forward-looking picture of Australia. Not koalas and beaches. The real country.
Your agency's guiding question for this mission:
"How should Australia present itself to the world in 2035 β and who gets to decide?"
How the mission works
Five phases. Phase 2 splits your class into four teams, each investigating a different side of Australia β nobody builds the same thing twice. Work through the phases in order.
The Australia Problem
A launch event, not a lecture: contradictory images of Australia, and your first honest reactions.
PHASE 2Team Missions
Pick your team's investigation: history, environment, identity, or the future.
PHASE 3Critical Thinking Lab
Stop and think: which stereotypes actually held up, and which didn't?
Public Showcase
Happens in your classroom β a gallery walk of every team's product. Ask your teacher.
Reflection & Transfer
What changed in how you see Australia β and what skills did you actually use?
